Such an honour to have won this award on Tuesday night. I arrived at the beautiful Sandhole barn feeling very nervous as the competition this years was immense. The very best in the business were all in the running for this amazing award. Sandhole as always looked super stunning and The Wedding Industry Awards had gone all out in the dressing and presentation of the room. It was both glorious and glamorous.
We were greeted with a champagne reception courtesy of Lanson and a huge selection of food from the impressive Galloping Gourmet. The stage was set for an incredible evening.
As well as the awards it was also a great opportunity to meet my amazing wedding industry friends and make new ones. Lots of hi fives, man hugs and kisses were shared. Love it.
2014 was indeed an incredible year and I've loved every second. I really am overwhelmed by the support and feedback I've received. Very proud.
As always It was a real pleasure to meet and mingle with the very best in the wedding industry and great to see everyone. I really am very privileged to call some of these suppliers friends.
The moment soon came for the awards and the atmosphere was truly electric. The buzz and suspense was something I've never experienced. WOW ! Then the announcement. It seemed like a life time from Damien saying ' And the winner is ' and hearing my name. ' Andy Murphy DJ ' . . . the room goes nuts, my friends scream ,cheer and whoop. I RUN to the stage I'm that excited ,I'm met by Damien who presents me with the award for 'Northwest Wedding DJ Of The Year 2015' a moment I will truly cherish forever. Epic.
The awards continued to flow and my great friends were also in the running. Massive congratulations to all of them. Gavin Jones from The Rush was next up and made his way to the stage to collect Best Newcomer. Gavin created The Rush only 9 months ago and truly worked hard to establish the band as the must have at any wedding.
Love bridal boutique were up next and won Best Wedding Bridal Retailer. Watching Emma & Jonnys face as this was announced was incredible. Two of the nicest and most genuine people you could ever hope to meet. Really made up they won.
Then came the award for Best Musical Act. The tension really began to build at this point and Damien from The Wedding Industry Awards really did a awesome job as our host. The winner is . . . Howard Wing. This man is a legend. The room again explodes with whoops, screams and cheering as Howard accepts his award . . . . . can we take any more ?
The next award was Best Wedding Entertainment ( Non Musical ) This could really only go to one man . . .Sam Fitton. A true wedding hero,legend and a great friend. So pleased for him.
Massive congratulations to Suzy & Ollie from The Word Is Love who also picked up an award. These guys have created an amazing company in such a short space of time. What an amazing couple
A massive well done Sian and the team from The Flower Lounge who also won an award for best wedding florist.
Top table Weddings were next and Annette RAN to the stage with the biggest smile ever. Well done.
It was great to see the team again from All about Me Marquees & Events who won a very well deserverd award for best marquee provider.
Best wedding make -up artist went to Sonara Parker. Such a lovely lady and she really was over the moon. Go get em Sonara .
Best wedding event team went to Heaton House Farm. Very well deserved and such a lovely team to work with.
